Crusade or not

The subject is not well chosen, is it? In crusades we think at knights and Muslims.
No, this isn't the 10th crusade, but a battle between two armies of ants which is also almost the end of the story "Erik of Het klein insectenboek" written by Godfried Bomans a well known Dutch writer.
The ants uniform is selected arbitrary.
